Merrifield Park is tucked between NE Eugene and NE Thompson, just east of NE 117th. It’s a small, neighborhood park with swings, teeter-totters, a picnic table, and a play field. Merrifield Park isn’t much to look at, but if you live close by, it’s a good place to let the kids run around on nice days.

Casmur Grocery
OK, this isn’t much to look at either – but Casmur Grocery (NE 111th and Brazee) has been in the neighborhood for over 50 years. The proprietors are very friendly, and they have a basic selection of food items as well as beverages, snacks, and ice cream. If you just need to quickly pick up a snack, a gallon of milk, or some ice, this is the easiest place to do it.

Yes, we’re lucky enough to have a Baskin-Robbins right in the neighborhood (NE 111th and Halsey). Stop by for a cone, a cake, or even a coffee and ice cream beverage.

Lily Market
Lily Market (11001 NE Halsey) is the local Asian grocery, with a great selection of canned, frozen and fresh foods as well as household and novelty items. If you need kimchi, lumpia, or Thai iced tea, this is the place to go. Lily Market also has fresh produce, meat, and hot Thai food.

The Outer Rim
Gateway Bicycles inexplicably closed in 2008, despite a nationwide boom in bicycle purchases, but soon after, The Outer Rim (10625 NE Halsey) moved into the neighborhood to take its place! The Outer Rim offers a variety of bicycles for the whole family, plus accessories and service.

Wunderland
This nickel arcade has been at 10306 Halsey Street for approximately forever (my husband played there as a child). The games really do take nickels (well, some are more than one nickel). It’s an economical outing for one person, a family, or a birthday party! Visit http://wunderlandgames.com for more information.

Good, old-fashioned service with no rip-offs or up-sells. Cooper's has been at NE 104th and Halsey since 1951.

Best pizza in the neighborhood. Stop by any day of the week for a quick and delicious meal (which you bake at home). Located at 11635 NE Halsey.
